1942 RARE Rupert Bear Annual

The ultimate annual and oh so rare and to find a copy in FINE + CONDITION it leaves you breathless. The soft pictorial covers, the first due to wartime restrictions, the colours are bright and bold, just a touch of light fox to the rear cover, a tiny touch of rub right to the edges, but the corners are nice and square with just a touch of thumbing to the bottom right corner. The spine is full and complete with a touch of rub to the top and tail and a tiny 1 cm split to the tail but holding firm where the front cover meets the spine. The sides of the spine have very slight surface rub, still nice and square. Internally just to dream of and this annual really excel’s for although there is a name in the belongs to box in a very neat child’s hand “Michael Northcott South Road Taunton” and when you open the front cover the the front cover glue has dried and you can see the staples, but the rest is like new. The pages are so stiff and crisp and the binding firm and tight I had a hard job taking the photo’s. The colours so vibrant and bold and the pages clean. I doubt that this annual has been opened more than half a dozen times in the last nearly 70 years. The rarest of all the Rupert annuals and one to dream of.

One of the ultra rare annuals and so very hard to find in any condition and this one is in FINE CONDITION.

Rupert Bear Annual 1940

This so very hard to find annual and in FINE CONDITION. The pictorial paper covered hard board covers bright, with a hint of fox. The edges with virtually no wear, a couple of dinks to the bottem edge, the corners with some bump and just a hint of surface wear, the spine full and complete just a hint of bump to the top and some more bump to the tail. Internally there is a name in the belongs to box in a neat child’s hand “Ruth Hillman Ston Easton Nr Bath”, not price clipped, although the page edges are a tiny little bit dulled the pages inside are bright and clean and the colours bold and vibrant. All of the pages are sound to the firm binding, not a single competition or puzzle has been touched. This is a very hard to find annual and would complement any collection.

A very rare and hard to find annual in FINE CONDITION.
